Any changes in the Council meeting schedule should be part of a larger package of reforms that fit together, that combine required meetings frequency together with an increase in the number of council members, along with revisiting of city council powers and responsibilities. Additionally, at the same time the council fails to address needed reforms of its size and powers. this measure would increase by 50%, the number of signatures necessary to qualify a referendum on a city council decision, making it even harder to challenge the council’s decisions via the referendum process.
